ECHO
Extension cable for use with WAND TM Sensors
The ECHO extension is an ultra-thin, flexible cable that provides access to WAND TM Sensors for monitoring internal wall thickness under layers of insulation. The cable can collect wall thickness data from under coatings, cladding, or in confined spaces, without the need for removal or direct access.
Features & Benefits
Features
Extended Access: Relocates the data collection point away from the sensor, making it easy to monitor under insulation, cladding, or in confined or elevated spaces.
Ultra-Thin & Flexible: Just 1mm thick, the flexible design allows easy routing around complex surfaces or through narrow gaps such as between insulation cladding.
Multiple Length Options: Available in 45cm, 100cm, 200cm, and 400cm lengths to suit a variety of installation needs.
High Temperature: Operates in environments up to 180°°ä, suitable for industrial applications.
Applications
Under Insulation or Coating: Ideal for collecting data from sensors covered by insulation or surface coatings.
Confined or Obstructed Areas: Useful where direct access to the sensor is limited or impractical.
Elevated or Hazardous Locations: Reduces the need for ladders, scaffolding, or rope access.

ECHO ExtensionFAQs
What is ECHO?
ECHO is a thin, flexible extension for WAND TM Sensors that moves the data collection point away from the installed sensor. It is designed for wall thickness monitoring where the sensor is beneath insulation, coatings or cladding, or where direct access is otherwise difficult.
Can I monitor wall thickness under insulation without removing it?
Yes. When a WAND TM Sensor is installed beneath insulation, ECHO can bring the data collection point out to an accessible location. Routine wall thickness readings can then be collected without removing the insulation simply to reach the sensor.
How does ECHO work?
One end of ECHO is positioned over a pre-installed WAND TM Sensor, including over the sensor coating. The other end becomes the new data collection point, allowing the measurement to be accessed from a more convenient location.
Can ECHO be added to an existing WAND TM Sensor?
Yes. ECHO is designed to be applied over a pre-installed WAND TM Sensor, making it possible to extend the data collection location where access to an existing sensor becomes restricted by insulation or other site conditions.
What ECHO lengths are available?
ECHO is available in four standard lengths: 45 cm/17.7 in, 100 cm/39.4 in, 200 cm/78.7 in and 400 cm/157.5 in.
What temperature can ECHO operate at?
All standard ECHO extensions have a maximum operating temperature of 180°°ä/356°¹ó, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial wall thickness monitoring applications.
